How do you feel when you workout there? Is it a relaxing environment that allows you to reach goals?

Can you find equipment in a reasonable amount of time?

Is the equipment falling apart or are all machines in working order? Are most of the machines newer, or models from a museum on loan?

Are the facilities, such as locker room, and showers modern, clean, and large enough to accommodate all members? Do you always find a free locker?

Is their other on-site services such as tanning, spa services, daycare? Many people enjoy having one place to workout and also get a massage or get their nails done.

Is the staff helpful and friendly? Are they knowledgeable? Bad staff can totally ruin your experience.

Gym for the snotty nouveau riche...

The facilities in this place are great. Of course, for 150.00/month you'd expect that. Watch out for the frosty attitude though. The members here belong to that upper 1 percent who, unfortunately, display all the stereotypical traits of selfishness, aloofness and a disaffinity for smiling.

If you have kids that you want to dump off in day care then this is the gym for you. Small children are everywhere including pool, basketball court and common areas.

If you enjoy paying two or three times what things are worth then please, shop at the restaurant and clothing store.

Lastly, if you would like to avoid meeting people then this gym is for you. Of course, you could wear your net worth on your forehead and maybe then, if large enough, someone may speak to you. Good luck.

I've been circulating in and out of this gym for years and my personal recommendation is to join the YMCA or a local gym in your town. You'll save a ton of money and avoid the worst of the Bay Area's nouveau riche.
