Bally Total Fitness Hot

For $19.98/mo you get what you pay for in terms of equipment, swimming pool, steam sauna, and classes. But it is not the cleanest place and the staff is very unhelpful when they aren't trying to make you feel bad about your body image. Actually, Bally recently emailed me to review my last visit to their gym and this is what I had to say:
"There was vomit on 4 of the bathroom toilets. It seemed to have been there for a while. When I came out of the swimming pool it was still there. When I left, I informed the girl working at the front desk about the situation. She seemed too preoccupied texting on her cell phone behind the desk to care. She told me she'd take care of it, but then she resumed to type her text message. I have not been back. Going to your facilities makes me feel dirty and not from sweating. The curtain on one of the changing stalls still seems to have some kind of dried up blood or human excrement that has been there for as long as I have been a member. I am actually not sure why I am still a member, probably laziness"

Oh right, it takes about a 2 months to process a cancellation which you have to do through the mail. A process that I am too lazy to start or fight for. So I find myself going back hoping it'll be cleaner the next time, but it never is.

Actually, when I signed up for the gym, I had to do a health assessment. The woman who does the assessment and then signs you up for a 'free training session' told me I need to loose fat. Which, makes you feel like a fat slob till you remember your a size 2 and totally health. Not exactly the best sales tactic, especially when said woman behind the desk is somewhere close to a size 8 and really looks like she should get up behind that desk and run a few miles on the treadmill. Said woman then signed me up for a training session for a swimming lesson (it's the only reason why I joined the gym). I went to my lesson the next week and then found out my trainer does not know how to swim. Thank you for telling me I'm fat and wasting my time.

No I will not be recommending your facilities to friends and family members.
